Press Release
Demand for mobile security validates CREDANT’s holistic management approach
DALLAS – November 2, 2005 – CREDANT Technologies®, the market leader in providing security software that enables organizations to protect and control mobile devices enterprise-wide, today announced a record-setting 775 percent increase in new customers over third quarter 2004. The company also announced a 172 percent increase in year-to-date bookings, and that cumulative product licenses for CREDANT® Mobile Guardian exceeded 1.4 million. Unlike competitors who are experiencing flat or declining revenue, CREDANT’s announcement of record-setting customer acquisition underscores the demand for innovative, cost-effective mobile security solutions that enable businesses to safely mobilize enterprise applications, while mitigating risk and ensuring regulatory compliance.
“The media have published many stories over the last three months about lost or stolen notebooks and the devastating impact to companies as a result. The awareness of the problem and our holistic approach to mobile security drove this record-setting quarter,” said CREDANT Technologies Founder and CEO Bob Heard. “Companies now recognize that you cannot solve the problem without securing all mobile devices, and that includes notebooks, PDAs, smartphones and removable media. Unlike competitive products, CREDANT’s comprehensive solution enables our customers to control and manage security for all mobile devices without having to manage multiple point products.”
Of CREDANT’s new customers signed in the third quarter, 54 percent were located in Europe and 46 percent were U.S.-based. Within the United States, 56 percent of new customers were from the federal government. For one federal customer, CREDANT’s unique approach to controlling functions on mobile devices – such as turning off integrated Bluetooth communications for 15,000 users – resulted in the displacement of an incumbent vendor. During the third quarter, CREDANT added new U.S. government customers including the Department of Veterans Affairs, U.S. Navy, and the Department of Homeland Security. In addition, the U.S. Army expanded the use of CREDANT Mobile Guardian to include a significant number of new commands and organizations.
The need to enable productivity of the mobile workforce, to protect brand and information integrity and to ensure regulatory compliance for diverse types of mobile computers, continues to be the driver for many of CREDANT’s significant new U.S. customers within the manufacturing, financial services, healthcare and food and beverage industries. Representative new customers within financial services include one of the top three financial services companies worldwide doing business in more than 100 countries with 200 million customer accounts, and a banking services company ranked third in the Deposit market for the Midwest.
Momentum in Europe continues to accelerate CREDANT’s growth as a global company. CREDANT welcomed two international customers that rank in the Global 50 and 200 respectively. One international customer operates in more than 70 countries and is the world's largest food and beverage company; the second customer offers a wide range of innovative products and services for markets including agriculture, nutrition, electronics, communications, safety and protection, home and construction, and transportation and apparel. Other new international customers include organizations within the government, energy, legal and financial sectors. The company added three new international resellers in the third quarter that will be instrumental in expanding CREDANT coverage in the United Kingdom and Germany. New resellers include Cirosec in Germany, and Vistorm and Contempo in the United Kingdom.
The company also expanded its partnership agreement with Intellisync Corporation. Intellisync, a leading developer and marketer of wireless e-mail and mobile software, will make it even easier for customers to purchase CREDANT products by becoming an authorized reseller of CREDANT Mobile Guardian Enterprise Edition.
Wireless and mobility expert Richard Stone, who previously served as solutions manager for the Americas at Hewlett-Packard, joined CREDANT’s executive team as Vice President of Business Development, where he is driving CREDANT’s market leadership in the mobile device security market and has been instrumental in the direction of both the partner and channel strategy, and the long-term strategic vision of the company.
