INTEGRIS Health's MobileSecurity Implementation From CREDANT Technologies Wins "Best Practices in Mobile & Wireless" Award From Computerworld

DALLAS, Texas, October 1, 2003 – CREDANT Technologies, a premiere provider of mobile security and management software, today announced that its customer, INTEGRIS Health, was selected by Computerworld and Hewlett Packard (NYSE:HPQ) as a winner in the Information Security category of the Best Practices in Mobile & Wireless Awards Program. The award was based on their case study showcasing the deployment of CREDANT Technologies’ mobile security solution. The CREDANT Mobile Guardian mobile security and management platform enables INTEGRIS Health to leverage the benefits of mobility to deliver higher quality patient care, while complying with corporate security policies and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy rule.

The awards program recognizes enterprises that have successfully leveraged innovative mobile and wireless technology to address pressing business issues in their respective industries. Sponsored by Computerworld and Hewlett Packard, the Best Practices in Mobile & Wireless Awards Program honors recipients in five categories: Information Security, Systems Implementation, Systems Reliability, Financial Payback and Innovation and Promise. A panel of IT and mobile and wireless industry professionals selected two winners and an honorable mention in each category from a pool of over one hundred finalist applications.

“Our mobile and wireless project enables physicians to move around freely while accessing information needed to provide higher quality patient care. However, without security for the different types of handheld devices used, we risked being non-compliant to the HIPAA privacy rule,” stated William Woloszyn, director of privacy and security, INTEGRIS Health. “CREDANT Mobile Guardian allows us to protect information on the device by authenticating the user, encrypting data and controlling connectivity. With security in place, we can equip our staff with mobile and wireless technology that helps them be more productive and effective when offering bedside care.”

“We are proud of the role CREDANT Mobile Guardian plays in controlling security for mobile users in INTEGRIS Health’s award-winning project,” said Bob Heard, president and CEO, CREDANT Technologies. “Applications showcased in Computerworld’s case studies clearly demonstrate mobile and wireless benefits realized across different types of industries and mirror the success of many of our customers.”

Complete profiles of the ten award-winning solutions can be found in the September 29 issue of Computerworld magazine.
