CREDANT Technologies Announces Strong First Quarter Revenue Results for Endpoint Data Protection, Bolsters Channel, and Builds Key Partnerships

Quarter marked 143% customer growth over Q1 2007; integration of CREDANT Mobile Guardian with Symantec’s Altiris management console; and continued progress toward providing single point of management of Intel Danbury technology hardware encryption

DALLAS – May 6, 2008 – CREDANT Technologies®, the market leader in endpoint data protection solutions, today announced strong results for the quarter just ended for sales of its centrally managed endpoint data protection solution, CREDANT Mobile Guardian. CREDANT experienced another double-digit increase in revenues in North America when compared to the first quarter of 2007. CREDANT now has 623 enterprise and government customers, a 143% increase over March 2007 and the cumulative number of licenses sold has reached over 4.8 million. CREDANT grew its channel program and strengthened is leadership with the addition of Greg Clock, who joined from EMC, as Vice President, Strategic Alliances and Worldwide Channels.

A driving force behind the growth continues to be the need for compliance with data protection laws. Businesses are not only working to address the risks posed by laptops and smartphones, they are also more aggressively addressing the security risks posed by data residing on a multitude of new ‘external media’ devices, such as USB drives and iPods.

Continued brisk sales of the CREDANT Mobile Guardian Enterprise Edition, were again across target markets in the Americas and EMEA with strong support from Channel sales. Marque customers added in the first quarter include a leading telecommunications company in Canada, the oldest and largest health insurer in the state of New Jersey, a nationally renowned academic medical center in the southeast in the Americas and the agency responsible for collecting the bulk of England’s tax revenue, and a division located in the Netherlands of one of the largest professional services firms in the world.

Key wins were secured by channel partners including ACS, Cap Gemini, Envoy, Forsythe, FusionStorm, IDI, Insight, VeiligMobiel and more. CREDANT’s continued growth is measured not only in the number of new customers and revenue growth, but also by customer satisfaction as demonstrated by the company’s increase in maintenance renewals of 183 percent over the same period last year.

“CREDANT is continuing to see strong demand for our endpoint data protection offering as enterprises better understand what it takes to implement and support these solutions – not only does a product have to meet compliance regulations, it has to fit in well with desktop operational processes; has to be easy to use by administrators; and has to be transparent to the end user,” said Bob Heard, CREDANT founder and CEO. “Our products meet these requirements and our continued strong sales validate our approach. Bottom line, CREDANT provides the protection needed to prevent reputation-damaging data breaches. With our products in place, companies have the peace of mind that they are in compliance and have an audit trail to prove data was protected.”

Partner Momentum
For the first time ever, IT administrators can use the Altiris management console to encrypt, audit, and protect the data residing on enterprise endpoints. In addition, CREDANT continued work with Intel to provide a single point of management that includes policy administration key escrow, encryption enforcement, data recovery and compliance reporting for Intel's newly announced Danbury Technology hardware-based encryption.

Product Innovation
The launch of CREDANT Mobile Guardian 6.0 and Full Data Encryption2 functionality was instrumental in driving sales for the first quarter. CREDANT’s alternative to both file-folder and full disk encryption provides policy-based, centrally managed endpoint data protection that protects all of the data that matters and vulnerable aspects of the operating system, but avoids the operational issues inherent with Full Disk Encryption products. CREDANT’s solution protects the broadest number of platforms including desktops, laptops, smartphones, USB drives and iPods from a single management console.

Channel Momentum
CREDANT bolstered its strong channel program by creating a new partner designation, the CREDANT Focus Partner and has announced that FusionStorm is the first partner to qualify for this program. CREDANT also added Capgemini, Affiliated Computer Services and Forsythe Technology as new partners.
