CREDANT Technologies Expands into Government Sector Initiative, Led by Peter Morrison, Addresses Growing Demand to Secure Mobile End Points

DALLAS, Texas October 22, 2003 – CREDANT Technologies, a premiere provider of mobile security and management software, today announced its expansion into the government sector to focus on the market demand to effectively secure and manage mobile end points in large scale mobile and wireless deployments. Leading the initiative is veteran sales executive, Peter Morrison who has joined the company as Director of Federal Sales.

As part of the e-Government and homeland security initiatives, Federal agencies are looking to implement new mobile and wireless technologies to improve access to information while government employees are traveling or away from their offices. However, needing to comply with Federal security policies, agencies are struggling with how to effectively secure and manage large-scale mobile device deployments that include laptops, tablets, PDAs and smart phones. Used by agencies such as Medical Command (MedCom) in San Antonio, TX, CREDANT Technologies’ mobile security and management platform, CREDANT Mobile Guardian, provides robust on-device security and centrally managed policy administration that automates the process of ensuring mobile security software and policies are always up- to-date and enforced for laptops, tablets, PDAs and smart phones.

With over 15 years of experience serving the government sector, Morrison is well positioned to lead CREDANT Technologies’ expansion into this market. Prior to joining CREDANT Technologies, Morrison led direct and channel sales for the public sector at Netegrity, an enterprise security software company. At Netegrity he successfully closed new business with Federal agencies such as the USDA, Department of Treasury, IRS, DISA, Department of Homeland Security, the US Army and many others. Prior to Netegrity, Morrison held various marketing and sales management positions at SpaceWorks, Inc., GTE Government Systems, Worldtalk Corporation and SoftSwitch, Inc.

“Pete has an impressive track record serving the government sector and has built solid relationships with key individuals in these agencies,” said Bob Heard, president and CEO of CREDANT Technologies. “His relationships and knowledge of enterprise security software will help us quickly establish CREDANT Technologies as a leader in mobile security and management software for government agencies.”

“Mobility is the next new wave of computing and mobile devices are quickly becoming an important component of the computing infrastructure,” said Morrison. “I’m excited to be part of a team that can help Federal agencies resolve the issues surrounding information security as they effectively mobilize government employees.”
