Credant Technologies Awarded Contract with Defense Commissary Agency
DALLAS, February 15, 2010 - Credant Technologies, the market leader in endpoint encryption solutions, today announced that it has been awarded a contract to provide endpoint encryption software and services for the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA). The agency, based in Fort Lee, Va., provides groceries to military personnel throughout the world.
Credant Technologies will provide DeCA with its security solution Credant Mobile Guardian, which ensures compliance with key mandates of government data protection requirements, including OMB-M-06 and FISMA. The solution will safeguard all data on mobile devices, such as laptops, thumb drives, and PDAs while offering multiple levels of access, device, and end-user controls.
Credant Mobile Guardian will also provide the agency with audit and reporting capabilities that demonstrate compliance with data breach notification laws. With Credant, government agencies can prove data has been encrypted if lost or stolen.
"A growing number of government departments and federal contractors trust Credant Technologies for their endpoint encryption and data security," said Pete Morrison, vice president, North American sales for Credant Technologies. "With Credant, the Defense Commissary Agency mobile workforce can have peace of mind that its sensitive information will always be protected from theft or security breaches."
About DeCA
The Defense Commissary Agency operates a worldwide chain of commissaries providing groceries to military personnel, retirees and their families in a safe and secure shopping environment. Authorized patrons purchase items at cost plus a 5-percent surcharge, which covers the costs of building new commissaries and modernizing existing ones. Shoppers save an average of more than 30 percent on their purchases compared to commercial prices - savings worth about $3,300 annually for a family of four. A core military family support element, and a valued part of military pay and benefits, commissaries contribute to family readiness, enhance the quality of life for America's military and their families, and help recruit and retain the best and brightest men and women to serve their country.
